Cornucopia Live music events are launched! By daytime we are a visitor attraction, but at nightfall we’ve turned up the heat in St Austell with the launch of a varied programme of music and events.
We asked local music enthusiast Linda to let us know how we did for the first Cornucopia Live event, and we have to agree with her – it was a cracking night. Great fun was had by all!
“So, the first gig at Cornucopia Live arrived…And with the perfect choice of performer. Cornwall’s Josh Curnow (semi finalist from Britain’s Got Talent 2016) and all-round great guy played a free gig to celebrate the launch.
Josh played two sets which went down really well with everyone present. There was a great mix in the audience – families with their tweenage children, couples and some larger groups of friends. Having such a mix of ages really tested the venue to the max – but it did really well. Everyone was really happy with the set-up, although there were a couple of small sound issues (quickly resolved).
In the second half, Josh had the audience up and dancing at the front of the stage… and some of the younger members in the audience were having a great time dancing to the fantastic music that Josh always provides.
Cornucopia is an exciting new destination for Cornwall, especially St Austell. I have visited several times already and judging by the music programme coming up for Autumn 2017 I will definitely be going back!
The food was a really unexpected surprise. We’ve had pasties when we’ve visited in the daytime but I think I should also mention that if anyone goes to Cornucopia for a night out, the food and drink that is on offer gets my hearty recommendation. A fantastic licensed bar from Mr Smalls Cornish Taphouse with a good choice of Cornish beers, ciders and gin. And pizza and ice cream to die for from Kernow Pizza Company and Tall Ships Creamery.
Always served with a smile – these extra touches like customer service really do make a difference.
