If you’re local to St Austell, or if you come on your holidays to Fowey or Pentewan Sands every year, the chances are you know Par Market – or Cornish Market World, to call it by another name.
Exciting things are happening in this quirky corner of Cornwall (and we don’t just mean the old market got a new name). The covered market is rebranding under the name Cornucopia Market Place and KidzWorld is nearly at the end of a large-scale refit and facelift. But this is just the start of a very exciting story that’s unfolding.
Step by step
KidzWorld is now known as Cornucopia Family Adventure. The transformation from soft play centre to an activity centre for all ages – from toddler to tween – is under way and already we have installed trampolines and a VIP toddler space, expanded the skate rink and wired up a proper barista coffee machine.
But our tried and trusted formula stays the same: one price covers most activities, weekly tickets can be purchased in summer and birthday parties can be booked. But above all, we’ve got a range of activities for a range of ages. It can be loud and bustling – but we send happy kids home.
What is Cornucopia Cornwall?
Well, we think you need to come over and find out (it’s not as far as you think). But before we open next month we’re really excited to tell you that our brand new, bespoke designed space has had a hard lot of work and creativity bringing it to life.
Cornucopia is a big, covered destination where families can come hang out, shop for food and eat some truly delicious local, Cornish produce and street food. So stop by in the day for your pasties or your produce to take home and cook – or book your place on one of our exclusive baking courses and learn to crimp like a pro.
We’re all about the pasties and we’ll tell you all about that in a future update, but today were jumping around because we got the licence to host evening entertainment.
So if you’re all not too tired after a day on the beach or at Family Adventure next door, stick around for one of our live music evening events or pop-up cinema screenings.
Some of you will remember the Coliseum at Carlyon Bay… this is a place close to the hearts of many on the Cornucopia team. And we’re getting very excited to think about how much we loved it there… and what we can do now we have a vibrant, unique entertainment venue at our finger tips.
We’ve got our licence… so we’re going to bring you music. Watch this space – and maybe sign up for our newsletter here so you know when to catch the launch party. We promise we won’t spam you.
